Happy New Year!
I have some news pieces up and about. You can find some of my new pieces loosely based on the Constitution up at Pemmican. Fiona Robyn posted my poem “The Heart is Not a Straight Line” on her site: Handful of Stones on November 23rd. I have a piece in Yellow Mama and a few pieces up at Underground Voices. Prick of my Spindle showcased three of my poems in volume 4.4. Red Fez published two of my pieces in their January edition. Rose and Thorn published my poem “Husks” in their Winter 2011 edition. JMWW published my poem “Lacerations” in their Winter 2011 issue. In other news, yes, I am still onboard with Natty and Cracker on their blog talk radio show The Natty and Cracker Hour . Recently we interviewed one of my favorite writers Julie Buffaloe-Yoder; she is amazing. Her work can be found at The Buffaloe Pen. I start writing reviews for Kirkus this month and am enjoying the winter storms. All in all life is good. I have also had the pleasure of reading some great books that I have to recommend. One is a Karl Koweski’s Blood and Greasepaint, which can be purchased through Epic Rites Press. Epic Rites is publishing many of the small press writers I really love like William Taylor Jr. and John Dorsey. Also just finished reading Just Kids by Patti Smith and loved it! Oh, and Julie Buffaloe-Yoder turned me on to Wilma Elizabeth McDaniel, coined an “Okie” poet. I love her work. She was published a good deal by one of my favorite print publications Chiron Review, who just took one of my poems for future publication. Thank you to all of you who support my work, the small press, and poetry! Have a phenomenal 2011!
